About Jhãna
Jhãna is the new alias of Mexican producer Alejandro Merodio, through which he explores a universe of melodic techno infused with organic sounds, minimalist sensitivity, and breathing structures that unfold in time. His sound blends deep textures, hypnotic pulses, and subtle melodic details to shape a contemplative and physical form of electronic music.
The project unfolds in layers: restrained rhythms, warm synthesis, and melodic progression that evolves with intention. Drawing from melodic and minimal techno influences, Jhãna embraces the physical energy of the dancefloor while inviting deeper immersion, where repetition, timbral nuance, and spatial awareness become central expressive tools.
His debut album The Path began its journey with the release of "Rūpa," the first single from a collection of tracks that unfolds between the body and the mind. The album has continued to take shape through a series of singles: "Bodhi Tree," "Kalpa," "Viriya," "Anatta," and "Samsara," each one deepening the arc of the project.
The term jhāna refers to states of deep concentration or mental absorption achieved through meditation. This concept serves as a creative anchor for the project, which seeks to recreate a sense of total connection with music.
